NCEMA Holds the Second Edition of the National Emergency & Crisis Official Spokesperson Program

  The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) held the second edition of the National Emergency & Crisis Official Spokesperson Program in collaboration with Sky News Arabia Academy. The program included a number of participants from various entities in the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Community.

 

The National Emergency & Crisis Official Spokesperson Program aims to strengthen communication preparedness in emergencies and crises, via empowering official spokespeople in all sectors of relevant authorities that are often responsible for dealing with crises and emergencies, as well as keeping pace with changes in the media sector grounds and the need to know the practices, media tools, and skills related to public speaking and discussions. The program also aims to emphasize the UAE transparency and integrity approach, as well as raise awareness of risks and familiarize the spokespeople with the Emergency and Crisis Management National Network.

The training workshops underlined the basics of journalism, and the skills of using social media platforms, in addition to the skills of body language and television and radio presentation, especially during emergencies. The courses were provided by a group of specialized media trainers with expertise in various fields of new media and content creators, producers, and directors.

His Excellency Obaid Rashid Al Hosan Al Shamsi, Vice President of NCEMA, stated the importance of the program saying: “The National Emergency & Crisis Official Spokesperson Program seeks to raise communication readiness in the Emergency and Crisis Management National Network. It is NCEMA’s role to support all partners to consolidate the concepts of emergency, crisis, and disaster management and enhance its culture through providing the necessary support to its representatives from the official spokespeople and refining their skills and abilities to maintain the country's reputation efficiently and professionally during exceptional circumstance”.

The National Emergency & Crisis Official Spokesperson Program held 20 participants in its second edition from various entities such as the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation, General Civil Aviation Authority, Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure, Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, Telecommunications, and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, Ministry
