Vice President of NCEMA meet with Undersecretary of MoIAT

His Excellency Obaid Rashid Al Hosan Al Shamsi, Vice President of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), met with His Excellency Omar Al Suwaidi Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT). The meeting comes as part of a series of introductory meetings with all federal entities aiming to introduce the National Strategic Meeting.

During the meeting, the attendees discussed the importance of enhancing capabilities and resources in the Emergency and Crisis Management Community and preparing for the next stage, by developing future strategies and methodologies in order to reduce the impact of future risks and threats through smart and advanced methods that keep pace with the changes of the era.

His Excellency Obaid Al Shamsi, Vice President of NCEMA said in a statement, "It is necessary to raise the efficiency of national readiness to face all challenges in the industrial and technical sector. Harnessing advanced technology at the present time is an urgent necessity to serve vital sectors and support national efforts to face foreseeable challenges and risks."

His Excellency Al Shamsi also previewed the methodologies on how to manage the Strategic Roadmap, the levels of integration, and the vision of the Supreme Council for National Security, in addition to presenting the strategic framework and the of Risks and Threats Log.

For his part, His Excellency Omar Al Suwaidi Undersecretary of MoIAT, affirmed the ministry’s keenness to enhance aspects of cooperation with NCEMA, to coordinate national efforts and measures that support the highest levels of preparedness. He stressed that the ministry supports the achievement of these priorities by strengthening the elements of industrial security, to keep pace with any potential changes, and support vital sectors such as food and pharmaceutical sectors to face global changes and any future emergencies, by setting priorities and implementing a set of possibilities that focus on enhancing the role of advanced technology and solutions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The meeting concluded with both parties affirming the importance of forming task forces specialized in foresight, forecasting, risk analysis and joint national planning, with the participation of specialized teams from each side, with the aim of achieving all desired goals.
