NCEMA Holds Meeting with Romania to Strengthen Cooperation in Emergency and Disaster Management

The National Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), headed by H.E. Ali Rashid Al Neyadi, Director General of NCEMA, held a meeting with a delegation from Romania, led by H.E. Dr. Raed Arafat, State Secretary and Head of the Emergency Department at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Romania.

H.E. Al Neyadi welcomed the Romanian delegation, emphasizing the strong relations between the UAE and Romania, and emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation in the fields of crisis, emergency and disaster management.

H.E. Al Neyadi stated: "The UAE places great importance on international cooperation in crisis and emergency management. Sharing expertise and knowledge with nations contributes to strengthening national preparedness systems to face challenges and crises at all levels." He added: "NCEMA seeks to benefit from successful international experiences to enhance our national emergency management framework."

During the meeting, a comprehensive overview of NCEMA and the national emergency management system in the UAE was presented, highlighting the integrated efforts of national entities to ensure optimal preparedness and rapid response to emergencies and disasters.

The two sides discussed areas of cooperation, including the exchange of expertise in specialized training for crisis and emergency management, conducting joint exercises between the two countries, and mutual participation in national exercises dealing with disasters. The focus was also on sharing knowledge and cooperation in emergency management planning, as well as Romania's proactive measures in preparing for nuclear emergencies. It was agreed to establish contact points between emergency operations centers in both countries to enhance swift communication and coordination efforts in case of emergencies.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the importance of strengthening international and joint cooperation in emergency and disaster management, with the aim of building strategic partnerships that contribute to improving preparedness and response to future shared challenges.
