Vice President of NCEMA meets the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Monday, September 05, 2022 His Excellency Obaid Rashid Al Hassan Al Shamsi, Vice President of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), met with Khalid Abdullah Belhoul Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFAIC) and as part of a series of introductory meetings with partners held by NCEMA with its partners, with the aim of strengthening the national network for Emergency and Crisis Management His Excellency Obaid Rashid Al Hassan Al Shamsi stressed the importance of raising the efficiency of the readiness of the Emergency and Crisis Management Community in all national and relevant authorities, in order to ensure the future of the national system, and to set the initial steps of future foresight to reduce risks and threats. His Excellency the Vice President of NCEMA added “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation plays a pivotal and important role in the Emergency and Crisis Management Community. The initiatives undertaken by the ministry are also an integral part of the strategic plan set in NCEMA to achieve its vision of "Safe and Resilient country". His Excellency noted that it is necessary to link the activities and initiatives carried out by the partners in the Emergency and Crisis Management Community and find a way to measure strategic indicators and analyze the strategic environment to reach the desired national goal. For his part, His Excellency Khalid Abdullah Belhoul, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, stressed the keenness of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, to enhance cooperation with all strategic partners in coordinating to protect national advances, praising the significant role of the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) in emergency and crisis management through a unified national plan. His Excellency underscored that cooperation between the two sides ensures integration and enhances the effectiveness of emergency management infrastructure in line with international best practices. The meeting concluded with the two sides stressing the need to unify national efforts in facing the expected challenges and risks and to benefit from past experiences at the local and international levels, in order to develop a safe future vision for the national system for emergency, crisis and disaster management in the country as a global model to be followed in regional and international mediums.
