Statement by HE Ali Saeed Al Neyadi Chairman of the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority on the occasion of International Volunteer Day

Today, we celebrate International Volunteer Day، an occasion that embodies the values of generosity and belonging deeply ingrained in the hearts of the people of the United Arab Emirates since its founding. It reflects the vision of our wise leadership, which has made volunteerism a deeply rooted national culture and a daily practice that expresses the authenticity of the Emirati character and its enduring sense of responsibility.

Volunteerism in the UAE has long been an integral part of our humanitarian legacy، translated into national initiatives and institutions dedicated to serving humanity wherever it may be. It is a continuation of the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, who made giving and humanitarian work a cornerstone for nation-building and a beacon of goodness for the world.

Within the framework of national preparedness, the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority places great emphasis on volunteers as a vital pillar of community readiness and key partners in supporting the nation’s efforts to confront crises and emergencies. Through the National Program for Building Specialized Volunteer Cadres, we strive to prepare a generation of skilled and knowledgeable volunteers capable of strengthening community resilience and safeguarding the UAE’s achievements.

The commitment and dedication demonstrated by volunteers today stand as a testament to their deep sense of belonging and genuine loyalty to our leadership and our nation. They embody the highest expressions of human generosity and unity of purpose between leadership and people، citizens and residents alike، in their shared mission to protect the UAE and uphold its security and stability.

At the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, we express our deepest appreciation to every volunteer who has made giving their mission and national service their duty. We renew our commitment to advancing a culture of community volunteer readiness, ensuring that volunteerism remains a cornerstone of the UAE’s enduring security, stability, and resilience.
