The National Emergency and Crisis and Disasters Management Authority takes part in the Saudi-Emirati Seven “Determination” Initiatives meeting

The Executive Committee of the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council and the National Emergency and Crisis and Disasters Management Authority launched seven strategic initiatives that include: Shared cryptocurrency, aviation, entrepreneurship, customs, and supply chain security, among others.

Among those initiatives is a joint exercise to test the security of the supply chain in key sectors in both countries during a crisis or disaster, address potential improvement and devise a plan to tackle this issue. This joint exercise will help establish a mechanism for direct communication between the National Risks Unit and the National Emergency and Crisis and Disasters Management Authority to control risks and coordinate during emergencies. This also includes sharing expertise, know-how and experiences pertaining to supply chain security and risk management between the two sides. The meeting aims to implement the shared vision of integration between the two countries on the economic, developmental and military levels, and to reinforce bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest. The meeting was headed by HE Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, UAE’s Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, and Mohammad Al Tuwaijri, Minister of Economy and Planning and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council. The Committee consists of 16 members seven of whom are Emirati ministers in priority sectors, including HE Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, UAE’s Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, HE Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, HE Obaid bin Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, HE Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, HE Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of State, HE Ali Bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Council for National Security, and Abdulla bin Touq, Secretary General of the UAE Cabinet.
