The National Emergency and Crisis and Disasters Management Authority reviews the National Climate Change Plan

H.E. Dr. Jamal Mohamed Al Hosani, Director-General of the National Emergency and Crisis and Disasters Management Authority, was introduced to the foundations, strategy and agenda of the National Climate Change Plan during a session in which a delegation of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, headed by Mr. Fahd Mohammad Al Hammadi, Director of the Climate Change Department, discussed some of the topics of the National Climate Change Plan and the direct and indirect impacts of climate change.

They also addressed the adoption of innovative solutions, studied the preparedness of the infrastructure, and the engagement of the private sector to highlight the impact of climate change and global warming on the economic, environmental, health and social aspects of life as part of two main topics; these are: Mitigation and Adaptation.

The participants in the meeting also discussed the importance of joint cooperation and coordination among the concerned parties, the development and enforcement of legislations and regulations, and improve the readiness and capabilities of the state’s institutions to successfully deal with global warming implications pursuant to the sustainable development goals, the National Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction and Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Saif Mohammad Arhama Al Shamsi, Deputy Director General of the Authority, and several other officials.
