The Emergency and Crisis Management Team in Sharjah holds its Second Meeting Tuesday, May 14, 2019 WAM / The Executive Committee of the Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Department held its second meeting today at the headquarter of Sharjah Police General Directorate. The meeting was headed by Colonel Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al-Na'our, Director-General of the Central Operations Division of Sharjah Police and Committee Chairman. Attendees included Tareq Al Suwaidi, Director of the National Response Center, Lieutenant-Colonel Dr. Hamdan Rashid Al-Taniji, Chairman of the Exercises Committee, Lieutenant-Colonel Majid Ghabbar, Director of the Crises and Disasters Division at the Central Operations, in addition to several other representatives of government departments in the Emirate of Sharjah who are also members in the Executive Committee. The participants discussed several topics and introduced the committee concerned with ship accidents in the Emirate of Sharjah. They also reviewed the risk record submitted by the National Emergency and Crisis and Disasters Management Authority, and updated the plans based on such record which was submitted by Lieutenant-Colonel Hamdan Al-Taniji who also discussed the progress report of the Exercises Committee. Furthermore, the participants explained the importance of these exercises in determining crisis-related scenarios and measuring the readiness of various entities to deal with disasters across all stages. They also discussed the points of strength and improvements that can be made on these exercises and presented a number of results regarding the previous period which were submitted earlier by the competent committees. At the conclusion of the meeting, Al-Na'our emphasized the importance of collective effort and mutual cooperation between the security and civil forces in dealing with the various risks and disasters that might take place and managing the same in a quick and timely manner to maintain security and stability in the country.
