VP of NCEMA holds a bilateral meeting with the Undersecretary of MoHAP

His Excellency Obaid Rashid Al Hosan Al Shamsi, Vice President of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), met with His Excellency Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP).

The meeting, held at the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) headquarters, comes as part of a series of introductory meetings with partners held by NCEMA with its partners, to strengthen the Emergency and Crisis Management National Network.

His Excellency the Vice President of NCEMA noted during the meeting, which was held in preparation for the Strategic Meeting to be held with a number of leaders in the relevant authorities in the Emergency and Crisis Management Community, the need to advance the efficiency of the national readiness of the Emergency and Crisis Management Community to ensure a robust future for the National Network.

His Excellency Obaid Rashid Al Hosan Al Shamsi highlighted the importance of linking the roles and initiatives undertaken by the partners in the Emergency and Crisis Management Community in order to reach national integration, find a way to measure strategic indicators, and study and analyze the strategic environment to reach the desired national goals and interests.

His Excellency Al Shamsi stated: “The Ministry of Health and Prevention played a key and pivotal part in the COVID-19 response. Today its role in the Emergency and Crisis Management Community is clear, as it provides actions that support national goals to sustain national security and is an essential part of the strategic plan developed by NCEMA to achieve its vision “Safe and Resilient Country”.

His Excellency the Vice President added that the Strategic Meetings will be a significant hub for linking all sectors through the presence of leaders in the relevant authorities in the Emergency and Crisis Management Community. The meetings seek to secure a strong and resilient future, especially in the health sector, as it requires raising the national readiness of the National Network to face all future health and epidemiological challenges.

For his part, His Excellency Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), stressed the importance of meeting with His Excellency the Vice President of NCEMA, to enhance coordination and cooperation in national policies and procedures between MoHAP and NCEMA, within an adaptive government system that works to its best capabilities to achieve harmony between the various vital sectors.

His Excellency Dr. Al Olama ensured that this cooperation comes in the implementation of the directives of the wise leadership, with the aim of enhancing national capabilities and readiness and proactive preventive measures of the emergency management system to preserve the gains and the sustainability of national resources.

His Excellency the Undersecretary noted the efforts of MoHAP come in line with the plans and aspirations of the UAE government to be more adaptive to future challenges and faster in making decisions and keeping pace with global developments, by strengthening its capabilities to quickly adapt to changes and readiness to overcome any future challenges and transform them into opportunities. His Excellency reflected on the successes achieved by the UAE in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, which represents a solid ground for more diligent work and coordination between government sectors within an institutional framework that guarantees leadership and excellence.

The meeting ended with the two sides stressing the importance of unifying national efforts in facing the expected challenges and risks by looking to the future and ensuring national preparedness to enhance safety and resilience.
