Local Centers Department
The Local Centers Department comprises of seven centers across all Emirates (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah). The department is in charge of local and national coordination related to the integrated emergency and crisis management system, through local emergency teams formed per decrees by Their Highnesses, the Crown Princes, and headed by the Police Commander General in each Emirate, and representatives of the relevant institutions and departments.
The Department observes local events and takes the necessary measures to implement local response plans, improve readiness and preparedness, prepare the local risks register, review the local and recovery plans, perform coordination to prepare joint activities in the Emirate, and develop the local resources and potentials.
Moreover, the Department collects the available data on local resources, forwards them to the concerned department to create a national sustainable database nationwide, and coordinates the management of these resources at emergencies, crises and disasters.
In collaboration with the Authority Departments, the centers participate in the development of the overall strategy and specialized programs, in addition to implementation of local projects.
